nope, never have.. i go to rallies to watch the rally, not to act the tool cause theres a rally on!

the only thing i dont like about this whole boy racer thing is that most if not all people with modified cars are painted with the same brush... im 28 years old and i drive a glanza V turbo, im a genuine car enthusiast, i rebuilt my car from the ground up over the last 5 years and spend alot of money and time doing so.. i dont street race and i dont go to cruises but im still classed as a boy racer for what i drive.... i dont take my car to rallies anymore for fear of been harassed but i dont blame them... i blame all these goons that think rallies are just another excuse to act the bellend... we stayed in darby o gills last year for the rally and myself and herself couldnt get a wink of sleep from 1am to 7am cause of all those muppets out on the raod thinking their great burning the tires off their cars... this idea of opening a place for these idiots wont work cause they get their thrills been on the wrong side of the law and doing so on public roads.... that warning in the program is very subtle but from what im hearing, there a serious clap down going in place at this rally involving mobile raod worthy tests, numerious recovery trucks and if the details im getting are right, even a mobile crusher... again im 100% behind this, maybe it will get rid of these muppets and leave the rally to those who are actually genuinely interested in it...

And all rally drivers are saints on public roads now are they? How many times have you been passed by one on the hard shoulder, overtaking queues of traffic on the midstrip of the road, acting in accordance with public road laws my hole.
Quick reminder vid of how we be it a rally driver elete are not all saints, pure out of order and hypocritical on behalf of Killarney motor club to tar every person with a car rwd with the one brush
Sideways MK2 Escort Rally car - YouTube
They forgot to mention to report any rally driver endaringing activities on public roads or it that poster coming tomorrow.

I think we all know the group kdmc are not welcoming, there is an event by them created on Facebook with comments like "can't wait to terrorise Killarney in my cam and oh I'm gonna wreck the place" etc
I think it's madness to suggest facilitating these muppets, a brilliant lakes for them is how black they turned the roads around killarney at 3am on Fri/sat night!
Unless your coming in a rallycar your not going rallying/racing end of

I heard of this before, People saying why dont the motorclub open a yard and let the lads in and burn some rubber. Id love to know what memeber of a motorclub would like to be taken away from doing his normaly duties (unpaid) to hold a event for a group of lads doing drifts & donuts. Surely the lads who want to have this type of a event can organise it themselfs. If they were in a motorclub they would understand what kinda work and pressure it takes to run a rally and they need all the manpower they can get.

#12 ·
They do organise there own events most of the time. It's nothing for the motorclub to be bothered with organising.

Although I don't know why some cute Kerry hure hasn't opened a yard for a weekend to rake in on the cash he could make. It's not a rally motorclub's place to organise such events.

#13 ·
We all have pulled a handbrake but as iv said before a real rally fan does not go diffin or doing doughnuts and stuff the weekend of the rally. A REAL rally fan understands what harm its doing to the sport and obviously these people don't understand so ya they club and the fans don't want them. As for opening a yard? Rallying is a sport, drifting is a different sport, there are plenty of drifting events in the country, you don't see rally people going disrupting these events?? Lads all there doing is killing our sport. Its sad but true

opening a yard is a complete waste of time in my opinion, the kind of lads that are up to this s h i t e every year aren't the kind who will partake in a properly controlled event, they want to act the b****x on the public road, you wouldn't expect much more from them anyway. If a playground was opened for them, you would have a small few in there and the rest still doing the same thing all over kerry, so its just a waste of time and money.

If it was possible i think extra guards brought in for the weekend in unmarked cars, not obvious unmarked cars!!, say cars that have been impounded or something, and leave them blend in with the rest of the spectators travelling around the stages, they would have some chance of putting a stop to it then.

I suppose the main thing for the poster is for the club to distance themselves from the idiots who purposely bring down spare tyres so they can burn a few sets off on the roads.

Why in gods name would any motorclub want to organise something for these muppets, there not the clubs problem so only faciliting them only makes them the clubs problem. Its bad enough that joe soup public thinks rallying and boy racers are all the one besides the rally setting up a set area for them to act the fool, then no pr in the land will convince joe public otherwise from then on on.

Boy Racers are something you aren't going to stop in a hurry. As long as there have been cars there have been petrol heads, some who like to play about with their cars more than others.

In Donegal at the rally every year for several years now there has been a safe and controlled environment set up for diffin drifting handbraking and whatever else they want to do, every night at the DTT Raceway (a stock car / karting? track). Far as I know the Gardai are all on for that, takes it off the roads anyway if nothing else.

As said above leave them off up the mountain, least ther kinda out of public/harms way..

Be Great if they could put some kind of stop to drinking on the stages down ther ( impossible to stop i know ) but it ****** me off a group of lads drinking away and when a car passes they hardly even look at it..

i have to say fair play to killarney motor club, these wasters "boy racers" in there cams and tegs and gt starlets ect ect dont have a clue about rallying all they wanna do is pull a few handbrake turns and do a few rings and 9 out of ten of them dont even buy a program or go to watch the stages.there giving the whole sport a bad name!these low lifes should have there cars taken off them and crushed if there caught doing the asshole in them like they do in parts of america and ban them from the road for 4 or 5 years and give them a nice hefty fine.i hope the other motor clubs all over ireland take notice what killarney motor club are doing and pull together in the future to try stamp this out and let us get on with this great sport.

The boy racers should be stopped and see the heavy hand of the law come down upon them. Last year at the lakes I came across a section of the main cork/ Killarney road blocked off by these wan**rs did there hoops in the Hoochy wagons.

Seize there cars on the spot. There action have tarnished the sport look at Galway in 98 twin cam eejits nearly bought the event to it knees. KDMC have suffered too Molls Gap stage was not run a few yrs ago as local residents complained a few yrs ago. A rally can be one of many event on In Kilarney if tourist see this carry it tarnisez the image of the town and revenue stream badly needed for an area are effected. This **cktard haven't the intellect to see the bigger picture

Simply solution we all have Mobile phone take pictures, note there registration call the guards protect the sport and stamp out these clowns

Sorry about the rant just personally I feel strongly about how the reputation of Rallying is knocked by these clowns

You really don't know much about Killarney's tourism industry or indeed any of the sites in the area apart from the stages if you think that would tasnish the image of the area for Americans,Irish,European throughout the rest of the weeks of the year.

The biggest problem in Killarney during the weekend that all the rally takes over the town is due to Public Order offences of drunken louts AND the so called ''boyracers', year on year this is the major reportings from an Garda Siochana.
A quick search will leave you with the realisation and facts that most complaints by locals and arrests by the Gardai are due to all the ****** fans, supporters, tourists, service crews falling from one pub to the other

2005- 22 Public Order Offences
2006 - 35 Public Order Offences
2007 - 34 for Public Order Offences
2008 - 36 Public Order Offence
2009 - 18 Public Order Offences
2010 - Over 30 arrests
2011 - 24 Public Order Offences

drink related
See the trend.......

rite banner u have only put up the public order offences their my good man why not put up the amount of sppeding fines cars taken by the gaurds lads and lassies done for dangerous driving threw their messing i think all these boy racer and girl racer fools should be fined it is not totally them but a lot of it is banner a post that was put up by another person here saying that a part of the cork killarney road was blocked by these bunch of wasters it is true cause i came across the same thing and ye say ye do nothing wrong if u say their is genuine car people driving cams and so on which their is and if u think u are one and u see this take a reg number and report it if are a true rally /car fan or are u just another boy racer tosser

Bernard I am not condoning anything with 'boy racers' et al. I'm just trying to get the point across that Gardai resources are being wasted on both the car related ******s that attend the rally as well as the drinking croud that attend and attend the rally, the arrests for Public Order and drunkenness exceeds that of car related arrests year on year, thats all I'm saying.
2007

58 Arrests

34 - Public Order
15 Drunk Driving
3 Dangerous Driving
6 Drug Searches

Percentage Car Related = 31%
Percentage Public Order = 59%

2008

64 arrests
12 Drink driving
13 Drugs offence
6- Dangerous Driving
33 Public Order

Percentage car related - 39%
Percentage Public Order - 52%

2009
26 Arrests
3- Drunk Driving
2-Dangerous Driving
21-Public Order Offences

Percentage car related - 19%
Percentage Public Order -81%

Every year cars are siezed for NCT and tax reasons, averages around 15 cars, crouds used be 70,000 and now down to 30,000-40,000.
It must be also noted that in every area of the country there are more drink driving related arrests on Bank Holiday weekends, all of the drink driving arrests did not mean that the person failed a drink test on reaching the station. The car related arrests include drink driving.

Question: What are the 'counting-rules' as per the Stats you posted? And who is the author of those stats ?

..... I'm thinking: How many of the dudes caught dangerous-driving were also prosecuted/reported for the public-order offence of Disorderly Behaviour and /or drink-driving and/or Drugs Offences ?????

Anyone who condones these idiots driving dangerously on any public road is just as big a 'ball-bag' as those idiots who tarnish this great sport.

KEEP THE RACE IN ITS PLACE - NAME AND SHAME THE IDIOTS;)

Why is this rally suffering from this the most like a few weeks back the circuit and none of these problems doesn't happen at any national rounds either.

Yes Donegal has a big influx of these clowns but every year It's Killarney that makes the headlines, from Friday even the town is packed with the jap bap bap bap gang why is this is there a big boy racer/ drifter culture in Kerry and surround counties.

The problem will get worse than better in the short term ok car numbers will have droped but also has gardai budgets the have not got the resources to fight the problem.

Solutions to the problem are hard to find all bar going vigilante,

The point about Garda resources is a good one. 10/1 the stats Banner is quoting are higher for public order than car related offences is its easier put 40-50 extra Gardai walking the streets of Killarney rather than 10-20 extra patrol cars out around the surrounding area.

As for having a designated area for them I think its Balls, plenty of other weekends and venues through the year for it, I've been to a few organised drifting events some good some woeful poor and @ 20 odd quid to get in is at any wonder they show at Rally's when the entertainment is free??
